NASA Harvest’s mission is to enable and advance adoption of satellite Earth observations by public and private organizations to benefit food security, agriculture, and human and environmental resiliency in the US and worldwide.
We are a Consortium of multidisciplinary and multisectoral actors from around the world, led and implemented by the Harvest Hub at the University of Maryland. Our Consortium brings together world-renown experts working on environmental, economic, and social aspects of agriculture in universities, research centers, industry, space agencies, humanitarian organizations, ministries of agriculture, and more.
All of our work is driven by end user needs. We co-develop our projects with end users ranging from agricultural industry to the food security early warning community, from global trade organizations/associations to the major national, regional, and global policy frameworks (e.g. G20 Agriculture, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UNFCCC, Sendai Disaster Risk Reduction).
